Puppets Up! held its inaugural Volunteer Appreciation Night on September 24 at the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum in Almonte and an outstanding time was had by all!
Volunteers were toasted and feted by a series of speakers, while puppets commented on all throughout the evening. The core message was one of deep appreciation that so many community folk, with a wide range of interests and skills, have stepped up to volunteer for this very unique festival and into the future.
The Puppets Up! Executive and Volunteer Committees thanked all who joined in the fun and enjoyed the tasty treats from our local providers: Tea & Cake, Kin Vineyards, Base Camp Brewing, and Equator Coffee. To top off the appreciation of their efforts, many volunteers walked away with bespoke door prizes created by talented volunteers and local businesses – community commitment knows no end.
Comments on volunteer events such as this one and suggestions were invited with those attending encouraged to email: volunteers@puppetsup.com.
