It may be winter out there but if you close your eyes for a second or two and think summer – there be puppets!
Have you already marked your calendar for August 8 & 9, 2026? If not, do it now as the Puppets Up! festival is only eight months down the road. That may seem like ages away but you know how time flies. In the blink of an eye, it’ll be August.
Meanwhile, a hive of activity is already happening behind the festival scenes. More than fifty volunteers on a variety of committees are coordinating a multitude of festival aspects. Some are mapping the physical layout, some are working to get sponsors on board, a bunch are applying for grants so we can keep ticket prices within reach, others are working on promotions and communications, and most importantly, a few are corralling the puppets and their humans. (A bit like herding cats we’ve been told.)
Yep. Volunteers are everywhere all the time, and we hope you’re smiling as you consider what role you might play to make the magic happen. We invite you to take a look at our updated volunteer webpage and share with your friends, family and neighbours. Together we’ll create the best festival ever.
